The Apple Festival took place on the weekends of October 11-12 and 19-20. This year, there were a variety of places to visit. For example, B.J. Reece Orchard offered apple picking every week during September and October, available from Monday to Sunday. Other activities at B.J. Reece Orchard during the Apple Festival included a corn box, rubber duck races, a petting zoo, a farm slide, wagon rides, pig races, cow milking, and a jumping pillow.

In the heart of Ellijay, Georgia, vendors set up booths offering food, clothing, jewelry, and plenty of handmade trinkets for the Apple Festival. Live music played in the square, providing entertainment for shoppers as they explored the area. The Gilmer High School Band and Dance Team showcased their skills in a parade bringing excitement to the crowd.
