The Purple and White Fine Arts spotlight is sophomore Sam Conn, who is currently taking the photography class. Conn utilized the technique of long exposure in this photo. Long exposure is where the photographer sets the exposure time really low, while the subject sits still and a light moves. Since the light is moving quicker than the camera can catch its movement, it creates a design with the moving light. The usage of long exposure creates visual interest and highlights the subject.
Conn said “I’ve always loved art, ever since I was very young. I wanted to take the photography class because my friend is there, but I ended up really liking it. If I could, I would take the class again in the future, and I would recommend it to anyone because it’s fun.”
