The 2024 presidential election between former president Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris ended on November 6 when Trump was declared president. The results were confirmed by election authorities and reported by several news outlets.
Trump secured 295 electoral votes, surpassing the number of 270 needed to win the presidency. In the popular vote, Trump won by a margin of 51%, securing 73 million votes compared to Harris who secured 68 million. His victory was supported by winning key states like Texas, Florida, and Pennsylvania. In Gilmer County, 81% of voters voted for Trump and 19% for Harris.
Trump will be inaugurated as the 47th president of the U.S on January 20, 2025, marking his second term in office. The outcome of the 2024 election marks a pivotal moment in U.S. politics as the country prepares for the next phase of leadership under Trump’s administration.
